Singer Pur sings Sting
Just in time for the 20th anniversary of Singer Pur's fi rst stage appearance, the ensemble is presenting its fi rst - and until now only - „pop production". It is nearly unimaginable to comprehend the complexity of arranging world-famous pop songs that everyone can whistle by heart for solo voices - without bass or percussion.

Symphony No. 1
Gürzenich-Orchester Cologne Dmitri Kitayenko, conductor
Tchaikovsky aff ectionately referred to his fi rst symphony as a "sin from his sweet youth". Th e work was only fi rst heard in its entirety on February 3, 1868 under the direction of Nikolai Rubinstein. Praised by many reviewers for its wealth of melodies, the symphony unfairly stands in the shadows of the composer's "three great" symphonies, namely, the Fourth, the Fifth and above all, the Sixth. It can be heard in this recording from November 2009, which also includes several pieces from Tchakowsky's music to the play "Snowflakes".
